CBC is outraged by the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Eleanor Bumpers, Abner Louima, and many other black men and women across this country over many decades. We condemn racism and violence in all forms and we recognize the systemic racism that continues like a virus in our society. Witnessing systemic bias, racism, and prejudice toward people of color is painful and must be addressed openly, honestly, and persistently until racial equality is achieved in all facets of life: education, employment, housing, safety in one’s community and ultimately equal justice. We at CBC fervently strive for greater understanding, peace, respect, justice, tolerance, reason, dialectical thinking, and open, rational dialogue. As therapists, trainers, and researchers, we are committed to continuing to enhance the health and well-being of our clients, staff, trainees, and all people in our community. At CBC we will continue to listen and stand with all persons of color to ensure equality for all.
CBC provides the necessary structure and tools to assist individuals with issues ranging from life stresses and problems to the full range of mild to severe psychological disorders. Many of the common psychological problems we treat for adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families cover the spectrum of human emotion and behavior. Most often our clients will come to us describing a range of feelings and issues along with obstacles that they would like to move past.
Our therapists practice leading edge treatments based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with our primary goal to create positive and enduring change for all of our clients.
CBC’s Cognitive Behavior Therapy Programs (CBT) are compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy treatments for individuals with a wide range of problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, habits, attentional and behavioral problems, parent-child conflicts, couple conflicts, and more.
CBC’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy Programs are compassionate, evidence-based treatments for individuals who have significant difficulty regulating emotions and behaviors. DBT features weekly group therapy and targets the issues that cause distress and teaches a range of skills to deal with them.
The CBC Institute For Professionals provides a collegial and intellectually stimulating environment in which to receive comprehensive training, supervision, and consultation in CBT and DBT. We provide continuing education training for health professionals, educators, and administrators through CBC-Ed. Our continuing education program offers workshops and other trainings, as well as time-limited or ongoing consultation for professionals in the community who wish to learn CBT and DBT adherently.
