Adam Iskric, MA, MSc

Psychology Extern

Adam Iskric, M.A, M.S.c, is a psychology extern at CBC where he conducts individual, family, and group psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults. He is currently a fourth-year doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Hofstra University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminology from York University in Toronto, Canada, his Master’s of Science in Psychiatry at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and his Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Regina, Saskatchewan.

Adam has received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Adam has significant experience in clinical and research settings working with adolescents and adults presenting with a range of disorders and problems including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, suicidality and self-harm.

Prior to working at CBC, Adam was a psychology extern at the Mental Health Clinic in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he provided DBT and CBT individual and group psychotherapy to adult community outpatients. Additionally, Adam continues to serve as a clinician at Hofstra University’s Psychological Evaluation Research and Counseling Clinic (PERCC) where he conducts psychological assessments and provides individual and group psychotherapy to adolescent and adult outpatients using DBT, CBT and ACT.

Adam’s current research interest involves the use of DBT and ACT in the treatment of self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. He presents his research at national conventions. Additionally, Adam is a member of American Psychological Association (APA) and the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA).
