Jensyn Marquesano is a licensed Master of Social Work who works full time at CBC as an intake coordinator. She has been trained in DBT for adolescents, young adults and adults dealing with emotional and behavioral dysregulation. In addition, Jensyn is trained in Encompass, an evidence-based, integrated treatment model for adolescents and young adults with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, as well as Community Reinforcement and Family Therapy (CRAFT), which is designed to support family members and loved ones of those who are substance-involved.
Jensyn received her bachelor’s of social work degree from Syracuse University with minors in addiction studies and athletic coaching. She received her master’s degree in social work from New York University.
Jensyn completed a year-long field placement at The Guidance Center of Westchester, which is a community-based integrated mental health and addiction clinic where she clinically evaluated, assessed and treated a diverse and complex caseload related to mental health disorders, substance misuse, addiction and trauma. She also facilitated group sessions in co-occurring disorders, early recovery, health and wellness for teen through adult populations while maintaining a caseload of individual treatment sessions utilizing evidence-based practices.
Jensyn also completed a year-long field placement at Nottingham High School in Syracuse, New York, where she received training in the implementation of evidence-based treatments in the school setting, meeting individually and in groups with adolescents presenting anxiety, mood, behavior, and post-traumatic stress disorders. She also gained expertise in conducting psychological evaluations and consulting with teachers and other school and community professionals in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, as well as implementing evidence-based interventions for behavior modification and management in the classroom setting.
Most recently, Jensyn was a counselor for student-athletes at Mercy College, providing a variety of highly integrated services and programs to foster academic success, student development, college transition, leadership skills and career exploration. She worked to ensure a positive educational experience by working collaboratively with each student in developing and implementing an individualized plan for success while supporting their social-emotional needs individually and in group settings.
She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports (ASWIS).
