Magdalena McArdle joined CBC as Controller and Human Resources Manager in 2020. In her dual role, she is responsible for two key complementary organizational functions. As Controller, Magdalena works closely with our company’s founders to oversee CBC’s overall financial administration and operations including payroll, tax, internal auditing, insurance, regulations and associated legal requirements. In her capacity as Human Resources Manager, Magdalena’s functions integrate with our entire talented team at CBC. As head of HR, she is responsible for onboarding all new staff and trainees, analyzing employee resources, payroll and benefits administration, PTO and leave policy, and helping staff establish work/life balance. Magdalena holds a BS in Accounting from the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University.

Prior to joining CBC, Magdalena’s expertise in accounting and financial operations was utilized at companies of diverse size, industry and stage of growth. The organizations ranged from a tech start-up to a multinational private-equity backed company to a publicly-traded Fortune 500 insurance company. Her past accountabilities have included financial reporting, corporate budgets, contract negotiation, risk mitigation, insurance policy, and analyzing the overall business financial health. In her prior HR experience, Magdalena was instrumental in determining hiring and onboarding practices, structuring employee and consultant agreements, revamping the employee handbook, and overhauling and migrating a payroll administration system.
