Assistant Training Director, Coordinator of School Psychology Internship and Consultation Services

Dr. Nora Gerardi is a full-time licensed psychologist at CBC and is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™. Dr. Gerardi works with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Gerardi has expertise in providing a variety of evidence-based treatments including cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She specializes in treating disorders across the anxiety and mood spectrums, as well as suicide & self-harm behaviors and Borderline Personality Disorder. Dr. Gerardi also trains and consults to several school districts in the tri-state area on the implementation of DBT within school settings. Dr. Gerardi is the Assistant Director of Training at CBC, overseeing the school and clinical psychology internship, as well as training and overseeing the intern class. Dr. Gerardi also supports school, organization, and agency consultation and training as the Coordinator of Consultation Services.

Dr. Gerardi has experience implementing CBT and DBT in school-based, college counseling center, community mental health, and outpatient settings. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at CBC, where she received advanced training in CBT/DBT.

Dr. Gerardi also completed her pre-doctoral internship at CBC. In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Gerardi was trained in comprehensive neuropsychological testing and conducted comprehensive evaluations for children and adults. As both a postdoctoral fellow and intern, Dr. Gerardi conducted trainings in both CBT and DBT for school mental health staff in numerous schools in the tri-state area.

Dr. Gerardi completed a pre-doctoral psychology externship at the St. John’s University Center for Counseling & Consultation (CCC), where she provided individual and group therapy to college-age students. She also completed a predoctoral externship at CBC, delivering evidence-based interventions across the lifespan. In addition to training in clinical settings, Dr. Gerardi completed an externship within Ardsley Union Free School District. She conducted comprehensive assessments, conducted FBAs/BIPs, and provided school-based CBT/DBT services.

Dr. Gerardi earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut. She earned her Master’s and Doctor of Psychology degrees in School Psychology from St. John’s University. Dr. Gerardi’s dissertation examined predictors of evidence-based suicide risk assessment and management procedures among practicing mental health clinicians. Her research interests also include the dissemination of education and training related to suicide and self-injurious behaviors. Dr. Gerardi has co-authored several book chapters, focusing on utilizing CBT and DBT strategies. She has presented research at the Association for Behavior and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of DBT (ISIT DBT), and the American Psychological Association (APA) conferences, as well as internationally at the Caribbean Well-Being Conference in St. Maarten.

Dr. Gerardi is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Queens College.
