Many of our waking hours are spent engaging with or reflecting on our chosen or desired career path. It is therefore common for people to experience frustration related to their current state of employment, wonder whether another setting might provide greater satisfaction, and worry that they may never find the answers to these questions. Identifying, obtaining, and maintaining work that provides a sense of meaning and financial security is therefore an integral part of our well being. Unfortunately, this can also be a daunting process, as the number of potential careers are limitless, and the paths by which we might pursue these positions can be unclear.
CBC aims to help individuals navigate this process by providing career management services. Career management is the combination of structured planning and the active management of one’s own professional career. The outcome of successful career management should include personal fulfillment, work/life balance, goal achievement and financial security. CBC clinicians therefore work with clients to generate an understanding of the environmental and personal factors that have both contributed to and detracted from their previous career success and satisfaction. Once this has been clarified, clinician and client work together to generate a plan for how to maximize future career success.
